Bruce Sohn

A HALIO, Inc board member since 2015, Bruce was most recently the CEO of Siva Power. Prior to that, he led First Solar’s rise from start-up to the world’s largest solar manufacturer and utility systems contractor with $3.2 billion a year in revenue. He began his career at Intel after graduating with an engineering degree from MIT, playing a leadership role in developing and manufacturing semiconductor technologies for 25 years.

Dennis Gao

Dennis Gao serves as HALIO’s CFO and Senior VP, Finance. Prior to HALIO, Dennis held CFO and senior executive roles at many high tech and manufacturing companies including Siemens Digital Industries, Avatar Integrated Systems, ET Healthcare, Integrated Memory Logic (acquired by MaxLinear), DemandTec (acquired by IBM) and E-Tek Dynamics (acquired by JDS Uniphase). He was instrumental in numerous financings via two IPOs, venture capital, commercial loans and M&As. He holds MBA Finance from Indiana University Bloomington.

Howard Turner, Ph.D.

Howard is a co-founder of HALIO, Inc. He was formerly VP of R&D at Symyx Technologies where he pioneered the use of combinatorial methods for the discovery and optimization of functional materials. With a Ph.D. from MIT, Howard started his career with Exxon. He has authored more than 60 scientific publications and 200 issued patents.

Sam Bergh, Ph.D.

Sam is a co-founder of HALIO, Inc. He drew from his experience in process development and systems design to co-found HALIO. Previously VP of Engineering at Symyx Technologies, Sam has written over 25 issued patents. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Lou Podbelski, AIA

A seasoned business development leader with intersecting experiences in dynamic glass, commercial glazing and curtain wall, architecture, and building products and services, Lou leads HALIO’s sales and marketing team. He previously held executive positions at SageGlass and Harmon and was the founder of LEAP Consulting. Lou is a licensed architect and holds an MBA, marketing from Monmouth University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech.

Dmitry Lipkin

Dmitry Lipkin is responsible for leading and managing global marketing at HALIO, Inc., bringing over 27 years of experience in leading marketing for some of high-tech’s leading brands such as: Aviatrix, NXP Semiconductors, Maxim Integrated, Applied Materials, Flextronics, AltaVista, and ASML. Dmitry also serves as a Board Adviser/Member for several high-tech start-ups. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, from Hartwick College, and a Juris Doctor, from Lincoln Law School of San Jose.

Walter Simon

Walter is an experienced sales and business development leader in semiconductor, manufacturing, sustainability, and real estate technology industries. Prior to HALIO, Walter held executive positions developing IoT business at Lunera and Enmetric Systems, was the VP of business development at Flex, and in the management team of Altera (now Intel). Walter holds a BSEE from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada and completed the Wharton School of Business Foundations Program.

Doug Schendt

Doug Schendt is the president of KTT, based in HALIO’s Taiwan-based manufacturing operation where HALIO’s electrochromic devices are fabricated. Doug brings diverse executive experience in product design, purchasing, supply chain strategy, inventory control, and manufacturing operations to HALIO. Most recently prior to HALIO, he held executive positions in building and sustainability industry-related companies including Kapture PreFab, Katerra, Lunera, and ABB. Doug holds a Bachelors Science Mechanical Engineering from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
